Holly Jolly Frostings

Hello!  Happy Monday to Everyone!

It's a Holiday Monday!  Hooray!  A great way to celebrate any holiday is with stamping!  Right?  So, I'm happy to share the challenge from the folks over at Fab Friday:

I'm planning cards for my Christmas Card Club, so I changed the sketch just a bit.

Aren't the frosted finishes so pretty?  They have a flat back, so they are very easy to use.  I just stuck it on with a glue dot!  Very blingy and pretty!

Supplies used:
Stamp Set: Tags 4 You
Cardstock: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Smokey Slate
Paper: Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Label Bracket Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Frosted Finishes and Coastal Cabana Ruffled Ribbon

A Pretty Little Happy Birthday

Hello Friends!

Check out the great color challenge from Fab Friday!

It's such a pretty, soft color combo.  I pulled out my favorite stamp set, Sassy Salutations to make a simple card for our next card class.  Oh yeah, that's tomorrow!  :)

It was hard for me to make the color bars uneven, but I think the uneven-ness of it gives it a more casual, more pleasant feel.  I can't wait to see if the gals tonight leave their card stock uneven, or if they have to straighten it out.  Fun times!

Sassy Fab Friday

Hello!

Take a look at this week's sketch from the folks over at Fab Friday.

At first glance, I was petrified of all that 'white' space at the bottom of the card.  Then, I decided it didn't have to be 'plain white' space.  That's one thing I really like about participating in challenges..... I try something I probably wouldn't have thought of on my own.

I can't imagine crafting a card without using one of my favorite embossing folders.  This time, I chose the chevron EF.  I love the movement it gives this card!  As you probably guessed, this is another sample for the first month of Christmas Card Club.  These brilliant ladies are starting early, getting their Christmas crafting done!  They'll have 60 completed cards by the first week of December.

Supplies used:
Stamp Set: Sassy Salutations
Big Shot: Chevron EF, Deco Labels Framelits
Accessories: Brights Candy Dots, Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon
Paper: Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Whisper White CS, Season of Style dsp

Convention Swap Time!

Hello Friends!

I'm too excited right now!  It's very near time for Stampin' UP!'s annual convention in Salt Lake City!  I'll leave next week and I'm not nearly ready!  I've been distracted by summer!  It's hard to concentrate on making swaps when it's so perfectly summer outside.

I'm thankful for the fun sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Check it out!  It helped me focus on the swap making.

I really enjoy combining different textures, shapes and designs.  What do you think of my creation?

I just used a lot of my favorite things.  Polka dots, chevrons, ruffles, purple and best friends!  Really, what could be better?  :)  Now, I just need to focus on creating even though it's still a beautiful summer.  I hope I see some of you at Convention!  Please say HI!

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  Label Love
Paper: Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder, Coastal Cabana, Afternoon Tea dsp
Big Shot: Chevron Impressions folder, Tasteful trims die

Christmas In July!

Hello Friends!

I was NOT prepared for the challenge from the Paper Players this week.  (PP153)

Christmas in JULY!?!?  Already?!?!  I guess it's time!  I haven't placed a pre order for new stuff from the new Holiday Mini catalog yet, so I decided to just use some things I already had.  What do you think?

I started with the Christmas greeting from 'That's the Ticket', then I added the images from 'Daydream Medalions' because I thought they looked like a Christmas wreath.  By the time I finished adding the pennants and the ribbon, I feel like I ended up with a 'homecoming mum' of sorts..... instead of a Christmas wreath.

I'm happy with all the layers, and I love the new embellishments, but the Pistachio Pudding ink didn't photograph well.  So, maybe I'm not quite ready for Christmas in July!?  Maybe I need a few more days of just plain old summer!

Supplies:
Stamps: That's the Ticket, Daydream Medallions
Ink: Real Red, Pistachio Pudding
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding, Real Red, In color paper stack
Big Shot: Petals a plenty impressions folder, Floral Frames Framlits
Accessories: Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon, In Color Boutique Details

A Challenge from Fab Friday!

Hello!

The designers over at Fab Friday have a great sketch for us!  Check it out:  (FabFri21)

At first, I didn't know what to do about the arrow.  That's not a shape I would normally use, but this is a challenge, so I decided to stay as true to the sketch as possible and I found an arrow.

Okay, I'm sure you noticed I rotated the sentiment.  I think it works!  It's very bright and summery!  I love it, I hope you do too!

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Really Good Greetings, Designer Typeset Photopolymer Stamps
Card stock: Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Whisper White, Quatrefancy SSP
Accessories: Candy Dots

Card Stock: Lucky Limeade, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: Lucky Limeade classic ink
