Challenged by a Curve

Hello!

The challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches really stumped me.

That beautiful curve really threw me for a loop.  I finally took the advice of Amy O and just traced it.  Here's what I came up with.

I decided to go with a mainly monochromatic scheme.  This uses Pistachio Pudding and the new Smokey Slate.  I wondered later if it would be more interesting if I would have used Strawberry Slush for the flowers.  Maybe I'll change it up for next time.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Sassy Salutations
Paper: Smokey Slate, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories: Rhinestones, Ruffled Ribbon
Big Shot: Chalk Talk Framelits, Polka Dot Impressions folder

Thanks for looking!

Sassy, Etcetera

Hello Friends!

I am so excited to be back at my stamping desk!  I can always count on a fabulous challenge over at the Paper Players to get me back into the swing of stamping!  Check out the sketch (PP151):

Pretty cute, right?  Well, I've been anxious to get my hands on some of the new 'Etcetera' Designer Series Paper, so I yanked that stuff out to play along with the challenge.  Here's what I came up with:

I really enjoy the bold diagonal stripe.  I paired the old olive with some crisp pool party.  I love the crisp, clean design of the sketch and had a really fun time putting this together.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Sassy Salutations
Ink: Old Olive Classic Ink
Paper: Etcetera designer series paper, Old Olive, Pool Party, Very Vanilla CS
Accessories: Very Vintage Designer Buttons, Pearls, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (Old Olive)
Big Shot: Floral Frames & Labels Framelits; Finishing Touches Edgelits

Thanks for stopping by!

Gingham Garden (because it's just so PRETTY!)

Hello!

It's official.... SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!  Swimming, lazy days and all around happiness!  I saw the challenges over at the Paper Players (PP148) and Fab Friday (FabFri10), and knew they would be so much fun if I combined them.  Plus, that gives me a few extra hours at the pool!

This is what I came up with.

The gingham washi tape was still on my desk from another card I recently made.  It looked so summery that I knew I wanted to try this technique.  I've seen lots of other stampers put the washi tape on a piece of cardstock then cut out a shape with the Big Shot.  It's super easy and fun!  That washi tape is a cool new accessory!

The washi tape coordinates with the Gingham Garden designer series paper, so that was an easy choice!  I was a little bit stumped when it came to selecting a summer greeting.   One of my favorite new stamp sets is, 'A Round Array'.  Nothing makes me smile like SUMMER!  So, as you can see, the card came together very nicely when I just used the stuff that already goes together.  Thank you Stampin' UP! for making my projects come together so effortlessly!

Supplies:
Stamp Set: A Round Array
Ink: Melon Mambo
Paper: Melon Mambo, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight cardstock and Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper
Punches: 1" circle, 7/8" scallop circle, 1 3/4" circle
Big Shot: Polka Dot embossing folder, Butterfly die, Scallop edgelit
Accessories: Island Indigo ruffled ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you find some time for some Summer Stamping!
