Things That Make Me Laugh (Vintage Edition)

Hello!

I am frantically working on September stamping projects!  (Okay, frantically might be a slight exaggeration, but I am working on projects!  I swear!)  I hope they will be completed soon, so I can share them with you on this blog.

While you are waiting, I thought you might like to know something funny.

Several years ago, I wrote a blog post about a common traveling problem.  This post, from April 28, 2010, continues to get at least 5 hits every week.  Still.  Sometimes, even more!  It cracks me up!

If you need a laugh today, take a minute to read it!

Thanks for stopping by!  More stamping posts coming, I PROMISE!

Halloween Stamp Camp!

I really love FALL.  and, HALLOWEEN.  It's just a really fun time of the year.  I enjoy the leaves changing, carving pumpkins, the fair, the costumes, the band performances at football games.... just all of it!  and MORE!

This fall, my husband and I will enjoy a trip to San Diego.  We've never been before, and I'm very excited to go!  I worked hard last year, and was able to achieve the Stampin' UP! Getaway trip.  So, we're going all expenses paid for a weekend of just US time.  I can't wait!  I love my job!

Today, I'd like to invite you to consider your Halloween decorations.  I'm doing a Halloween stamp camp this year.  We will make these fun projects.

We will make this fun Halloween banner, Halloween gift box and Halloween gift bag all for only $20.  I copied the banner from an example at this year's convention, and I copied that box from my fearless leader, Amy Storrie.  It's so cute! I had to include it!

Here's a close up of the gift box and bag.

If you enjoy Fall & Halloween as much as I do, I hope you'll join me at this class!  You'll have to contact me for more information.

Thanks for stopping by!

August Stamp Club, Makes Me Happy!

Hello!

It's club time!  Stamp Clubs meet this week at my house.  Every month, we meet for a great project and some yummy snacks.  This month, we are making a project I found from Convention.

It's a little sack of note cards.  It makes me HAPPY!

I wanted to use the NEW crumb cake note card envelopes, and I changed the note cards up a little from what we received at Convention.  I'm excited with how they all turned out!  The new envelope liners framelits really step this project up a little bit.  And, they are so easy to use!

I hope the stamp club members will enjoy this project!  And, if someone brings chocolate cake to the club meeting.... well, that wouldn't be the most horrible thing ever.  :)  I hope they can take a hint!

Thanks for looking!

You're Making Me Happy!

Hello Friends!

Today, I'd like to share another card from our recent card class.  I CASEd this card from my friend, Amy O.  I often do that.  I just love her ideas!

I hope you enjoyed the video about Washi Tape!  It's such a fun, easy product to use.  I actually used a piece from the Epic Day washi tape for this card.  The gals at card class love washi tape!

I used the new stamp set, 'Hello, Lovely'.  It's got that great ampersand in it.  How much do we love a good ampersand?!?  Am I right?

Thanks for stopping by today!  Now, go create something!  You're Making Me Happy!!

Gorgeous Grunge, all pinked out!

Hello!

Tonight is the card class!  I'm so excited and can't wait to share my cards with all the gals!   I recently received the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set for free from Stampin' UP!  I popped on over to my friend, Amy O's blog and CASEd (copy and share everything) this fun sample.  I LOVE it!

I changed it up a little bit.  Making it more simple, with less ink changes, for our class tonight.  I'm really happy with how it turned out, and it was very quick to make!

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Gorgeous Grunge, Chalk Talk
Cardstock: Whisper White
Ink: Primrose Petals, Going Gray, Summer Starfruit
Big Shot: Chalk Talk framlits

A Pretty Little Happy Birthday

Hello Friends!

Check out the great color challenge from Fab Friday!

It's such a pretty, soft color combo.  I pulled out my favorite stamp set, Sassy Salutations to make a simple card for our next card class.  Oh yeah, that's tomorrow!  :)

It was hard for me to make the color bars uneven, but I think the uneven-ness of it gives it a more casual, more pleasant feel.  I can't wait to see if the gals tonight leave their card stock uneven, or if they have to straighten it out.  Fun times!

Happy. Too Much? Never.

Hello!

Sometimes, I sit down to create at my desk, and I have nearly NO IDEA what to do next!  (I'm sure that never happens to you, right?!)  I can always count on the folks at Freshly Made Sketches to give me a great idea!  Here's the challenge:

ACK!!  It's a SQUARE!  Square cards are so hard for me.  For whatever reason, (it's because there's not an envelope)  I normally avoid them, and I did this time too.  Luckily, a sketch challenge is an idea.  A starting off point.  I am creating some clean and simple cards to share with our next card class.  I came up with this:

I'm really enjoying these colors together!  I hope the gals at card class will smile when they see the sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  Yippee Skippee
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Bermuda Bay, Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple
Paper: Birthday Basics dsp
Big Shot: Tasteful Trims die, Deco Labels framelits, Alphabet press Embossing folder
Ink: Bermuda Bay

It's a FLIP BOOK! and, I just LOVE it!

Hello Friends!

Today, I want to share a project with you from Convention.  Every summer, I enjoy Stampin' UP!'s annual convention!  This year was no different!  Here I am with Aunt Janet on our home office visit.  It's an absolute MUST to take a rock picture.  So, even though it was a little bit hot, I drug Aunt Janet out to the rock.  Isn't it pretty!  I never get tired of visiting the home office.

One of my favorite projects from convention, features some great new seasonal products.  Take a look.

When I saw this project demonstrated on main stage, I knew it was the first project I wanted to make when I got home!  I already had all the stuff because I had received it FREE in my title benefits shipment.  It's a FLIP BOOK made from the Thankful Tablescapes kit!  I'm so excited!  Of course, I had to change it up just a little bit.... to make it more personal.  Take a look at one of the interior pages.

It's a bunch of pockets!  Inside each pocket, I've placed a piece of journaling paper.  How brilliant!

I can't wait to offer this project as a class.  If you'd be interested, let me know!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you're inspired to create something!

What I did on my summer vacation...

Hello!

Today, I have a non-stamping related post for you.  My oldest son just returned from his annual summer backpacking trip.

He had a wonderful time!  He didn't loose much weight, and only has a few irritating blisters on the bottom of his feet. There is one large bruise on his side, but for the most part, he's no worse for wear.  The backpackers had a shortened schedule, but managed to hike at least 7 miles a day.  I can't even imagine what that's like.  I'm so proud of them all!  Here's a picture of the entire group.

Great group of kids and leaders!  Here's an early morning picture of my son.  This was taken just as he finished getting his pack ready.

These are all just cell phone pictures, so the quality isn't great, but you get the idea.  Thanks for stopping by today!  I promise some cute projects this week!  Please stop by again!

Christmas Card Club Goes Glam

Hello Friends!

Can you tell I'm just a LITTLE excited about starting Christmas Card Club again!?!?  It's a wonderful way to spend a morning.  Another card we'll make this week is this:

Pretty stinkin' cute, right?  Glimmer paper makes everything better!  Look at that happy Santa, it's all the glimmer paper!  Not really.  Santa is happy I used the 'Tag It' stamp set.  Every time this set is purchased, Stampin' UP! donates $3 to the RMHC (Ronald McDonald House Charities).  Good deed.  Done.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Tag It
Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White, Gumball Green
Accessories: Glimmer paper, rhinestones, Gumball Green Ribbon
Big Shot: Chalk Talk Framelits, and that snowflake embossing folder.... (you remember the name, right?)

Thanks for stopping by today?

Bonus gratitude if you noticed my new 'watermark' on the card photo.

This Is the Authentic Me.

Hello Friends!

I've been considering what to do about an official 'business blog' for quite some time. I need to be 'professional' and 'focused'.

Hmmm..... neither of those things sound very much like me.

You know what DOES reflect me? This blog. TfTC. It's me. (and PrissE when she has time to write.) So, this is what you get! ME, in blog format. As professional as I ever am. As focused as anyone wants to see me. Just me.

AND, if you look carefully over there on the right.  The information bar side thingy..... then you'll see a new widget.  A place to sign up to receive these blog posts in your email box. (Some people actually requested it!)  Look at me being all 'businesslike'..... WHAT?

More importantly, you get to see the things I can make.  Like this super fun card for the first month of Christmas Card Club.

You will have to look carefully.  That 'texture' at the bottom of the card, in the background, is a new embossing folder technique.  There's some new washi tape, and a new Christmas Tree stamp set.  There's some interesting burlap-ish pieces of ribbon tucked behind the tree.... all in all, a very interesting card!  If I do say so myself!

It's not too late to sign up for Christmas Card Club!  Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks for stopping by for a look!
